DESIGNING EXPERIENCES

AT SCALE FOR MILLIONS OF USERS

Visual Systems for Millions of Users

Experience design at scale means balancing elegance with constraint. My work focuses on creating interfaces that feel intuitive and refined while operating across diverse hardware, large user bases, and evolving operational needs.

Whether designing guest-facing television systems or the tools that power them behind the scenes, my goal is consistent: clarity, memorability, and trust – delivered at scale.

This work spans hospitality environments where interfaces must serve millions of users annually, perform reliably across varied hardware, and remain simple enough to feel invisible while still reflecting the brand they represent.

The Venetian Las Vegas

Interactive Television UI

Role: UI/UX Direction

The Scale

25+ million annual users | 14,000+ televisions | Two resorts (The Venetian & The Palazzo) | Smart TVs and set-back boxes | 6+ months of concept, testing, and implementation

Challenge

The Venetian’s existing television system was dated, visually generic, and misaligned with the resort’s brand. It failed to reflect the architectural elegance and premium experience guests expected, while the underlying content management system made updates slow and inefficient.

The new system needed to feel elevated and memorable — without sacrificing usability — and function across multiple hardware platforms with differing technical constraints.

Approach

I led the visual and interaction direction for a system that balanced innovation with restraint. The design leaned into architectural inspiration, abstracting Italian columns into a unique vertical navigation system. This allowed the interface to subtly echo the physical environment of the resort without becoming ornamental.

Key Decisions

The design introduced a column-based navigation system inspired by Italian architecture, paired with contextual video buttons that enhanced engagement without excess motion. The system balanced locally stored and streamed content across multiple hardware platforms, prioritizing clarity and elegance over novelty.

Outcome

The result was a television experience that felt unmistakably Venetian — refined, memorable, and functional. Feedback from hotel staff and guests was overwhelmingly positive, with the system frequently cited as a standout part of the in-room experience. The platform also outperformed the outgoing competitor in both guest-facing usability and backend content management flexibility.

Video-On-Demand UI & Product Development

Role: Front-End UI Direction & Development

The Scale

Hundreds of hotels across the U.S. | Multiple generations of set-back boxes and smart TVs |

3–6 months of development | Ongoing support with new titles every month

Challenge

Reintroducing traditional video-on-demand in hotels carried real risk. Guest expectations had shifted toward modern streaming platforms, and any VOD solution needed to feel familiar, intuitive, and frictionless – even on aging hardware.

Approach

I designed the interface to align closely with modern streaming conventions. Genre-based navigation remained persistently visible, allowing guests to browse content in ways that felt immediately recognizable. Visual hierarchy, transitions, and interaction patterns were carefully tuned to ensure consistency across both new and legacy devices.

Key Decisions

The interface adopted familiar streaming navigation patterns while remaining performant across legacy hardware. Multiple paths to discovery and purchase supported varied user behaviors, with visual polish carefully balanced against technical constraints.

Outcome

Adoption was strong, supported by compelling content offerings and flexible purchasing options. Guest feedback highlighted the familiarity and ease of use, reinforcing the importance of designing within known behavioral patterns while adapting them for the hospitality context.

CORE Create

Web-Based Content Management System

Role: Lead UI/UX

The Scale

Used daily by hundreds of hotels nationwide | Multiple users per property | Browser-based, device-agnostic | 3–6 months of development

Challenge

Hotels needed autonomy. Content updates required frequent coordination with Enseo, slowing responsiveness and creating friction. Additionally, high staff turnover meant the system had to be intuitive enough to use with little to no training.

Approach

I led the design of a web-based editor focused on immediate clarity and confidence. Live previews allowed users to see exactly what guests would experience, while hover-based affordances highlighted editable areas and surfaced critical information such as image sizing before mistakes could be made. Scheduling, grouping, and instant publishing were designed to feel simple, not technical – reducing hesitation and reliance on support.

Key Decisions

Hover-based previews reduced user error by clearly signaling editable areas, while the interface was designed for minimal training in high-turnover environments. Clarity was prioritized over feature density, with support for immediate, scheduled, and grouped content updates.

Outcome

CORE Create became one of Enseo’s most celebrated products and a key differentiator in winning high-profile clients, including major resorts and casinos. Adoption was rapid, and many clients cited the tool as the primary reason for choosing Enseo over competitors.

Design Leadership at Scale

Across these projects, my role extended beyond execution into system-level thinking and long-term usability. I regularly balanced stakeholder needs, technical limitations, and brand expectations while ensuring design decisions scaled across platforms, teams, and properties. The work required not just visual direction, but judgment – knowing where to simplify, where to innovate, and where consistency mattered most.

Outcomes & Impact

Designed systems used by tens of millions of users annually

Shipped interfaces across 14,000+ devices in live hospitality environments

Helped position Enseo as a leader through differentiated design tools

Delivered products praised by guests, hotel staff, and enterprise clients
